Originally constructed around 1949, Cloyne Public School united students from Bishop Lake, Marble Lake, and Loon Lake schools, leaving an indelible mark on the community. In the early 1970s, the school transitioned to private ownership, ultimately evolving into the beloved Cloyne Motor Inn. Over the years, it underwent various transformations, becoming Ole Malacca and later Mazinaw Residence Inn, before emerging as The Lakeside Inn.
